What do you say when you don't want to say good-bye .......

The sign we didn't want to see for awhile........of course we wanted their house to sell and all to go smoothly for them and the move to be an exciting time for Dave and Debbie.................but when it comes right down to it, we really don't want to say good-bye!
Thirty years of friendship will continue to keep us close.  And the visits back and forth will we wonderful.  Focus on that and we will not have to say good bye.....we will say, as we always do, see you soon!

Still the man of my dreams.....

Happy Anniversary to the man who still  makes my heart beat faster when he walks in a room or when I answer the phone and hear his voice.

Library books, dogs and McDonalds

More pics of my young friends.  Violet-Jessah-Selene are three of the five sisters who have spent some time with me this week at the Public Library.  They are now part of the summer reading program, have signed up for library cards and are ready to go again!    And they love to come to my house and play with my dogs.  I don't know who likes it more, the dogs or the girls!  And McDonalds hamburgers have been a hit with them  too.  On top of all this fun, they have been swimming at Char's and are most ready to go again tomorrow!   As one of the girls said "Man, this is going to be a good summer!"

Who says the Public Library is boring?????

Three sisters, Chole, Violet and Brianna went with me to the Library yesterday..........and we returned today for the Reptile Show.  We had a blast.  And they are three brave girls!

Violet was a trooper - her big smile continued to the end!
Brianna is not in the least squeamish!
Look closely..look very closely. "Princess Leah" has a snake wrapped around her head!  Brave...very brave.

Shanghai Girls - a great summer read!

If you are looking for a really good summer read, a book you will emotionally be caught up in - a book you can't put down,  you will love "Shanghai Girls" by Lisa See.
A novel about two sisters, May and Pearl,  in Shanghai in the 1930's who immigrate to America.  Go to http://www.amazon.com/ and  you can "click to look inside" the book.
This is my first novel by Lisa See and I'm hooked!  Just back from the Public Library (one of my favorite places) and am about to start "Peony In Love."

sandpiper - killdeer - geranium plants & mama doves

Yesterday's bird was a killdeer, not a sandpiper.  (My friend Lynn is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to "all creatures great and small"...such as birds - fish - dogs - etc.  Thanks Lynn!)
My geraniums from last year surprised me and are flourishing again.  So much so that a mama dove has nestled her eggs right in one of the plants.

There she is giving me the evil eye as I approach with the camera.
I sure hope she hatches her babies soon - it will make watering this plant a whole lot easier!

Sandpiper -

What comes to mind when you hear Sandpiper?  A Bodega Bay Restaurant?  A travel trailer? A Florida Resort?  How about this bird - at least I think it is a Sandpiper.
Riding along in the Dutchman's truck, he shows me this bird and something else..........can you see them?  In the midst of all the pebbles and gravel, right out in the open, next to the mother,  there are three eggs.
Talk about blending into the environment!  If you were driving along,  would you see these eggs?  Well, Mr. Sharpshooter Eyes, the Dutchman himself, never misses a thing.   (Another reason he is so fun to travel with.)  So, of course, we stop and get some pictures.
I hope that Mama hatches her eggs real soon!

Continues......

Click once on video.
!

The conference ended with each of us pairing up with another woman and Beth led us in praying for one another.   It was a joy for me to pray with Faye:

"My dear sister
if Christ is your Savior
you are the dwelling place
of His own Spirit.
You have it in you
to be secure.
Every day of your life
you have a choice to make.
You can live in your old defeat
or you can turn from your unbelief
and choose life
Make up your mind
to put off the old you
and put on the new you.
Never, ever, ever forget
that the Lord is your security
He will keep your foot
from being caught in a trap.
He will take care of you
to your very last breath.
Now, leave this place
and go out into the world
and act like a person
who knows she's dearly loved.
You were born to be exceptional.
So,  girlfriend,  go forth
and walk worthy of your calling.
You are clothed in strength and dignity!
Now unto Him
Who can keep you from falling
Be glory and majesty
power and authority
Through Jesus Christ our Lord
Now and forever more.
Amen"

Reflecting........

What a busy time these past months.........very little blogging on my part. but I have now been furloughed and love...love...love having free time! Not that I am ready to give up the job. There is something about those several months that is still enjoyable and keeps me disciplined with my time.
To catch up a little on posting some of the fun times this spring.........take a look at these photos taken at the Beth Moore Live Simulcast in April. It was true Beth style...........spoke right to our hungry hearts..........high energy music from Travis Cottrell had us moving....and high energy teaching from Beth Moore filled our souls with the hope of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was "clearly identified and glorified as our ONE and ONLY means of steadfast, soul-deep secuirity"!
Check out Travis Cottrell here

I work with these three beautiful ladies -Sylvia - Mona - and Faye.  It was such fun to have them with us.
So much to say.....one thing we women are good at is relating to one another...whether we have been friends for years or meeting for the first time.  So here we are.....chatting up a storm...as we wait for conference to begin.

A little fuzzy.......ok...very fuzzy and blurry.......but just look at those smiles!  Couldn't leave this pic out.  Three dynamic women!  Vivian-Jennifer-Dana.
Stay tuned.......more pics tomorrow.
